EASY BREAD RECIPE:

1 1/3 cup warm water (100-110*F)
2 teaspoons active, dry yeast
2 teaspoons brown sugar or honey
1 egg
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
3 to 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

In a large mixing bowl, combine the water, yeast, and sugar.

Stir until dissolved, then add in the egg and salt.

Add the flour one cup at a time. Once the mixture is too stiff to mix with a fork, transferred it to a well-floured countertop.

Knead for 4-5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Add more flour if the dough is continues to stick to your hands.

Shape the smooth dough into a ball and place in a bowl. Cover with a dish cloth and let rise in a warm place for one hour (or until the dough has doubled).

Grease a standard-sized loaf pan (9″x5″). After the first rise is complete, punch down the dough and shape it into a “log”. Place it into the loaf pan and allow to rise 20-30 more minutes, or until it starts to peek over the edge of the pan. Bake in a 350* oven for 25-30 minutes, or until lightly browned.

  1. JIll, what mxer do you have? Is it for dough? I have bad thumbs so I was hoping to get something to mix for me.

  2. I don’t know what i’m doing wrong… everytime i start to knead it is SO sticky and i try to wait it out and i’ll knead for nearly 20 minutes no change, add flour no change… google keeps giving me different answers, pls has this happened to anyone else 😭

  3. I can’t wait to make this ! Please help – do you grease the loaf pan and what happens if you leave out the egg ( causes hives ) ? TIA ❤

  4. The mom I never had thank you for this a lot! No family or mom to teach me and I’m surprised not many people know how to do this specially men.

I’ve never made bread before and made this tonight – I’m ending the day feeling so accomplished and fulfilled! It turned out perfect! Can’t wait to continue making these loaves each week💛

  7. Bread👍

  8. 1st attempt: panicked after starting another recipe for 4 1/2 cups of flour and found i was a cup short, already had yeast bath foaming and added half a cup of olive oil, everything worked Flawlessly until the oven trick, shut off preheat at 300, put covered bread in oven to rise, apparently my oven is really well insulated and 35 mins later was still 185 degrees killing off some of the weaker yeast in the process, took out of the oven and placed on counter to cool down and maybe keep rising. It did. Punched down, relocated to bread pan, let stand for 20, it kinda reinflated, but not super promising. Oven for 30 mins, golden brown, grew up some (i see this as an absolute win), dense, good flavor, i will attempt again in search of the fluffiness i desire.

  9. awesome recipe – doing it again on this slow Saturday afternoon. Love your farm and your farm recipes. just subscribed too.

  10. I am so worried because I just doubled this but forgot two eggs and only used one. I really hope it still turns out okay

ADD GODDAMN CELSIUS INSTRUCTIONS 90+% OF THE WORLD DOESN’T USE FAHRENHEIT

  12. Very good.🎉

  13. Mine needed almost 5 cups of flour to get the wet out of it. What did I do wrong?

  14. Gonna start making some good bread!

  15. Thanks for sharing! You make it look much easier!

  16. Hi can we use oat flour?

  17. Just tried it. Will see how it comes out. 😊

  18. Mine gets crusty on top when I let it rise. I’m using a towel. I’ve tried olive oil on top but I can’t stop it

  19. @sychology_facts_shorts November 18, 2024 at 8:48 am

    😮😮😮

  20. Can I use self rising flower instead of yeast?

  21. Thanks

  22. @jujharsinghaulakh8349 November 18, 2024 at 8:52 am

    Good

  23. I made my 1st leaf 2 days ago, only 2 slices left 😂. Making another now. What do you mean by "punching it down" for the 2nd rise?

  24. I make killer bread ,just yeast water and flour, tried other recipes doesn’t rise as good also i let rise once till it doubles pound it out let rise again about half hour -45 min pound again let rise another 30 min or so in bread pan then into oven 350 for about 35 min. Keep it simple found when adding sugar to activate yeast it burns itself out feeding on sugar and doesn’t rise as well.

You’re never too old to learn
Never made bread before my life
I have watched this video several times because it’s so easy and enjoyable
I have made four loaves of bread and I’m on my fifth
Each one taste better and better because of all the stuff I had to it!
    Thanks

  26. Your tutorial style is on point. Love it! Can you tell me why you don’t use bread flour, and, if you did would there be any difference between the two? Thanks in advamce.

  27. Really Good idea🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

  28. Can you skip the egg?

  29. I don’t take the chance. I always proof my yeast. Why risk losing all your ingredients when it only takes 5 minutes to make sure your yeast is active.

  30. Looks delicious! Thank you for sharing
    Happy Baking

  31. When baking it did u pre heat ur oven?

  32. could you plz tell me if I turn on oven to 350,wait till it get’s to 350 then turn it off, or when it reaches 350 wait 3-4 minutes then urn it off?…Did I explain this correctly, probably not! Help lol !!!

My 9 yo boy decided to make bread one afternoon and he found this recipe. It’s been a hit eversince! Now I want to make bread and use "his" recipe, so here I am! 😀

  34. starting this one, it’s currently on the first rise. For those that want to know you should mixer for dough, I tried to make it with my hands and that was so messy and hard to add more flour when needed and it took almost 4 cups of flour before mine wasn’t sticking to my hands. I put mine in a clean bowl with spray oil so it wouldn’t stick to that pan. When it rises I will come back and update my comment
***ok update after baking. if you do not add butter or an egg wash since the video does not say to do so it comes out white. I then added butter put it back in the oven for 5 to 10 minutes to give it color. Let it cool for about 15 minutes it’s a very dense bread, not airy and fluffy like sandwich bread. I would put it at the consistency of a cornbread. Taste like bread with a dense, heavy texture.

  39. @Scorpiomajesty777 November 18, 2024 at 9:11 am

Very informative! Thank you I can’t wait to try and make more things from scratch

  40. @gamallsdokkalfs7253 November 18, 2024 at 9:11 am

Thank you for the recipe – I’m trying it right now! I used whole wheat flour, and the dough wasn’t sticking together, so I wet my hands and that seemed to help.

  41. The way you explained the process was so efficient. Even years later, I’m watching this and not I feel more confident about making bread, something that I was very anxious to do.😊

  42. 🎉🎉🎉❤❤

  43. No butter? Or that’s optional and if yes, at what point should I add

  44. Hit the left side of your phone like a dj. Pretty cool. I’m pretty stoned

  45. As a pizza hut employee watching the pizza being made at the end: YOU GOTTA COVER THE SAUCE ON THE EDGE WITH THE CHEESE! NOW GIVE ME A SLICE AND TAKE MY MONEY! 🤣🤣🤣

  46. Nice and round like your bottom!🥰🥰🥰🥰

  47. @heavenlyseymour24 November 18, 2024 at 9:16 am

    Making it now ❤

  48. Easy . Thank u

  49. Don’t take your anger out on the dough. It falls apart. At least not in you have man hands.
